RHCP CHOOSE WINNER OF ?CREATE THE ?CHARLIE? VIDEO? CONTEST

ASPIRING FILMMAKER FROM LOS ANGELES WINS 5,000 AND A TRIP TO PARIS TO MEET THE BAND

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have selected the winner of the contest they held on video-sharing website YouTube asking fans to create the official video for "Charlie."

Out of the 420 submissions uploaded by fans, Omri Cohen, a 25-year old aspiring filmmaker from Tarzana, CA, emerged triumphant. Cohen?s winning clip is now Red Hot Chili Peppers? official video for ?Charlie,? and can be viewed at You Tube, MySpace . Cohen will receive a cash prize of 5,000, plus a trip to meet the band and see them perform live in Paris, France on July 6th.

?After watching dozen and dozens of admirable efforts, I finally saw a video for ?Charlie? that made me cry,? says the band?s lead singer Anthony Kiedis. ?When I looked at my girlfriend, she was crying too. That's when I knew we had a winner.?
