sittin here in tokyo
on the weirdest time schedule ever
i am moseying around my darkened room in the morning, gonna go back
to bed soon
we played a tour in europe , took 5 glorious days off, and now we are
in japan to rock again
we ended our last leg with four shows in london at earl's court
it was a lot of fun
some musicians we truly respect came to se us play and that makes us
excited
i felt like that last leg we were playing some of the best shows we
have ever done
patti smith came and jammed with us and threw the fuck down
not that i have an objective perspective on the situation
but we had some good moments
i am excited to try and get better as a musician
and look for new ways to play and write
i want to break through into something new
i really wanna be a better musician
listening to thom yorke's new record
it sounds beautiful
so full of exciting rythyms and melodies and sounds
i tripped around tokyo today
and ate ramen
and green tea
if i was only allowed to eat one kind of food for the rest of my life
it would be japanese food
but luckily i can eat burritos too
and mulligatawny soup
and egg in a hole
sometimes i say such embarrassing things
i'll be talking to someone
and want to get a point across
and i end up saying something that sounds so arrogant
and it's not what i mean at all
and i end up not achieving what i meant to say
my humble thoughts jumble
and the person i'm talking to probably thinks i am an idiot
well, maybe one day i'll learn to relax and say what i mean
i'm not talking about the printed press, they never get what i say
right anyways even if i do say something cool
i'm talking about human beings
its like some defense mechanism in me makes me want to protect myself
by saying something dumb
well, regarding the media
at least i dont say all the dumb shit i used to say when i look back
at some old interviews from the 80's
boy, i had no business having a microphone in front of my face
all the times i thought i was being shocking and i was obnoxious and
trite
and i thought i was being righteous and i was a narrow minded fool
well at least sometimes i speak from my heart and say what i mean in
public
once in a while................
i have not been by the ocean in so long
i really miss it
i am excited to see sonic youth at the fuji rock festival we are
playing at the day after tomorrow
the last time i saw them they were so great
it made me run out and get the records of theirs that i dont have
murray street is a really good one
im gonna listen to the new one before i see 'em
rock!!!!!!!!!
